Elektronik kitap destekli ilkokul 4. sınıf sosyal bilgiler öğretiminin öğrenci başarısına ve tutumuna etkisi üzerine bir araştırma

Abstract

Ülkemizde e-kitap sektörü küresel gelişmelere paralel bir şekilde çeşitli alanlarda kullanılmaya başlamıştır. Eğitim sektörü de e-kitapların gittikçe artan şekilde kullanıldığı bir alan olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı elektronik ders kitabı ya da basılı ders kitabı kullanımının, öğrenci başarısı ve tutumu üzerindeki etkilerini araştırmaktır. Çalışma yarı deneysel araştırma deseninde tasarlanarak ön test ve son test deney-kontrol gruplu şekilde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında Afyonkarahisar’ın Sinanpaşa ilçesinde resmi bir okulda öğrenim gören toplam 50 adet 4. sınıf öğrencisi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak “Üretim Dağıtım Tüketim Başarı Testi” ve “M.E.B. Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, tanımlayıcı istatistik teknikleriyle değişkenlere ilişkin ortalama, standart sapma değerleri ile çarpıklık (skewness) ve basıklık (kurtosis) katsayıları bulunarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre; deney grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin Tutum Ölçeği ön test veri yanıtlarının toplam ortalaması 52,20; son teste veri yanıtlarının toplam ortalaması 66,24 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Aynı ölçek kontrol grubuna uygulandığında öğrencilerin ön test ortalaması 51,44; son test ortalaması ise 51,08 olarak gerçekleşmiştir. Ayrıca deney grubunda olan öğrencilerin Tutum Ölçeği son test puan ortalamasının (X̄=66,24) kontrol grubunda olan öğrencilerin son test puan ortalamasından (X̄=51,08) fazla olduğu ve bu durumun istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu (p<0.05) tespit edilmiştir. Aynı şekilde deney grubunda olan öğrencilerin Üretim-Dağıtım Tüketim Başarı Testi son test puan ortalamasının (X̄=77,44) kontrol grubunda olan öğrencilerin son test puan ortalamasından (X̄=63,24) fazla olduğu ve bu durumun istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu (p<0.05) ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırma bulguları göz önünde bulundurularak öğrencilere dijital okuryazarlığın ve teknolojinin sorumlu kullanımının öneminin iyi anlatılmasının gerekliliğine vurgu yapılmıştır.

In our country, the e-book sector has begun to be used in various fields in parallel with global developments. The education sector has also become an area where e-books are increasingly used. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of using electronic textbooks or printed textbooks on student achievement and attitude. The study was designed in a quasi-experimental research design and was carried out with pre-test and post-test experimental-control groups. The research was conducted with a total of 50 students in 4th grade studying in a public school in Sinanpaşa district of Afyonkarahisar in the 2022-2023 academic year. “Production Distribution Consumption Achievement Test” and “M.E.B.” were used as data collection tools in the research. “Social Studies Lesson Attitude Scale” was used. The data of the research were analyzed by descriptive statistical techniques by finding the mean, standard deviation values and skewness and kurtosis coefficients of the variables. According to research findings; The total average of the Attitude Scale pre-test data responses of the students in the experimental group was 52.20; The total average of data responses to the post-test was determined as 66.24. When the same scale is applied to the control group, the students' pre-test average is 51.44; The post-test average was 51.08. In addition, it was determined that the Attitude Scale post-test average of the students in the experimental group (X̄=66.24) was higher than the post-test average of the students in the control group (X̄=51.08) and this was statistically significant (p<0.05). Likewise, the Production-Distribution Consumption Achievement Test post-test average of the students in the experimental group (X̄=77.44) was higher than the post-test average of the students in the control group (X̄=63.24) and this was statistically significant (p< 0.05) emerged. Considering the research findings, it was emphasized that the importance of digital literacy and responsible use of technology should be explained to students well..
