Yeni Coğrafya Öğretim Programında Bazı Tarım Konularının Öğretiminde Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemlerinin Kullanımı

Abstract

İçinde bulunduğumuz çağ “bilgi çağı” olarak bilinmektedir. Teknolojik gelişmelere bağlı olarak bilgi akışının hızlı bir şekilde geliştiği ve değiştiği çağımızda, insanların üretilen bilgiden zaman kaybetmeden haberdar olması ve bu bilgiden üst düzeyde faydalanması çağın gerisinde kalmaması adına büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bilgi çağını yakalamak eğitimle mümkündür. Eğitimin bu işlevini eksiksiz yapabilmesi için gelişen ve değişen teknolojiye ayak uydurması gerekmektedir. Eğitimin toplum yapısının oluşturulması ve geliştirilmesindeki yeri bilinmektedir. Toplumların ilerleyebilmesi için, eğitim alanında büyük atılımlar yapılarak, bilim ve teknolojik gelişmelere paralel programlar geliştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu doğrultuda, gelişen ve değişen dünyayı anlama ve yorumlamamıza yardımcı olan coğrafya dersi, bilgi çağına uygun öğretim yapabilmek için, çağın gerisinde kalan öğretim programını yenileyerek, geleceğe yön verecek nesillerin yetirilmesi doğrultusunda önemli bir adım atmıştır. II Yenilenen coğrafya öğretim programı, bilgiyi olduğu gibi almayan, hazırcı ve ezberci zihniyetten uzak, araştıran sorgulayan, kazandığı bilgi ve becerileri hayatında uygulayan öğrenciler yetiştirilmesini hedeflemiştir. Yeni coğrafya öğretim programı, coğrafya öğretiminde görselliğin önemi vurgulamış, günümüz teknolojisinin sunmuş olduğu imkânlarla daha kolay coğrafya öğretimi yapılacağını örneklerle anlatmıştır. Dünyada hızla yayılan ancak Türkiye’nin yeni yeni tanımaya başladığı Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemlerinin (CBS) coğrafya öğretiminde kullanılabileceğini ifade eden yeni coğrafya öğretim programı, bu konuda somut bir örnek ortaya koymamıştır. Bu çalışmada yeni bir sistem olan CBS’nin Türkiye’de Liselerde Coğrafya Öğretimi’nde nasıl uygulanacağı, tarım coğrafyasından uygulamalı örnekler verilerek anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır.

The age we’re living is also called ‘The Science Age’.The flow of Knowledge due to technological changes has developed and affected our life.The people’s instant awareness and benefit of the the produced ideas and facts have been very ımportant to keep up with the age. It is possible to conform with Science through Education and in order to perform this task in a faultless way it is essential to keep up with the changing and devloping technology.The Education’s Society and Developing structures have to be known. Science and Technology in paralel programs should be developed by doing serios investments in the Field of Education in order to have an Advance of the Community. Directly,Geography as a means of understanding and interpreting the changing and developing,in order to offer a proper teaching of Science by innovating the teaching curriculum. Has launched a huge step forward to guide the new generation to the right path. IV The New Geograpy Curriculum teaching where facts aren’t simply facts; far from static and mechaic mentality;full of research and investigation, aims to Educate students to apply gained knowledge and skills in real life. The new teaching curriculum stresses the Visuality importance in teaching Geography.It tells how presentation facilities of everyday Technology make teaching geography easier. Already wide-spread in the world but recently introduced in Turkey Geography Information System may be used in geography teaching ,as seen The New Geography Curriculum has not offered clear examples. The application of the new Geography Information System (GIS) in teaching Geography in Secondary Schools in Turkey by giving examples from Agricultural Geography have been explained and presented in this study.
