Çoklu patolojili meningoensefalosel olgusu

Abstract

Meningoensefalosel, kalvaryumdaki bir defektten, kraniyal içeriklerin, kafatasının normal sınırlarının ötesine geçip çıkması olarak tanımlanabilir. Sağ maksiller bölgede şişlik şikayeti olan altı günlük bir erkek bebeğin çekilen kraniyal BT incelemesinde sağ temporal meningoensefalosele ait görünüm vardı. Ayrıca korpus kallosum disgenezisini dü- şündüren görünüm de bulunmaktaydı. Olgumuzdaki gibi bir anomali literatürde oldukça az rastlanan bir durumdur. Meningoensefalosel ile diğer konjenital beyin lezyonlarının birbirinden ayrımı, tedavi ve prognozlarının tamamen farklı olması nedeniyle büyük önem taşımaktadır.

Meningoencephalocele is described as a protrusion of the cranial contents beyond the normal confines of the skull because of a defect in the calvarium. A 6-days male newborn is presented with the complaint of swelling of the right maxillary region. Computed tomography imaging of the cranium revealed the meningoencephalocele in the right temporial region. Also there is a pathology which suggestive of dysgenesis of corpus callosum. The abnormality of our case is quite rare in the literature. The distinction of meningoencephalocele and other congenital brain lesions has great importance due to all differences in their treatment and prognosis.
