| dc.description | Communities, whose high-tech supremacy have been acknowledged and
adored by lesser ones, have always been in a forceful state of turning ‘other’ people
/civilisations into their own shape and essence; a process of assimilation. What
comes after this arduous process is grasping the riches of these native people and
transferee these wealth to their respective spheres.
Simulators are alien, No matter how hard they push, those who try to be the
ones; the simulated/assimilated, can in no way achieve to be identical with the
original. There is sure to be something weird, awkward and defect in their dressing,
discourse and life styles. These stigmatic features are always to appear as a result of
an interaction. The stigma is not original, not indigenous and self. Erwin Goffman describes such cases in a wider field (bodily, personal, ideological and racial) via
the ‘stigma concept’.
In this study, the case of the intellectual will be discussed in terms of
imitating the west within the concept of ‘Stigma’. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Teknolojik anlamda başkalarına üstünlüğünü kabul ettirenler, çoğu zaman
kendi dışındaki insanları, uygarlıkları kendilerine benzetmeye, sömürmeye
çalışmışlardır. Bu çabalarının ardından da onların zenginliklerini kendi ülkelerine
taşımanın peşine düşmüşlerdir.
Benzetenler yabancıdır. Bu nedenle, benzemeye çalışanlar, ne kadar
benzemeye çalışırlarsa çalışsınlar, benzetilenle aynılaşamazlar. Bir taraflarında -
giysilerinde, konuşmalarında, yaşam biçimlerinde- sırıtan, dikkat çeken bir leke
oluşur. Leke bir ilişki sonucu oluşur; öze ait, özgün değildir. Erwing Goffman bu
durumu çok geniş bir alanda (bedensel, kişisel, düşünsel, etnik…) ‘leke’ kavramı ile
açıklamaya çalışır.
Bu yazıda, E.Goffman’ın leke kavramı enine boyuna tartışılacak değildir;
Batı’yı taklit eden aydınının konumu, bu kavram ve ‘modern’, ‘çağdaş’, ‘Batı’,
‘ilerleme’, ‘değişim’, ‘ilerleme’, ‘reform’ kavramları çerçevesinde verilmeye
