Wallerstein’in Modern Dünya Sistemi Modeli Açısından Modernleşme Kuramı

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Wallerstein’in modern dünya sistemi modeli açısından modernleşme kuramının analizini yapmaktır. Wallerstein’in modern dünya sistemi kuramı 16. yüzyılda başlayan ve 21. yüzyılda daha da genişleyen kapitalist dünya ekonomisi sistemidir. Modern dünya sistemi, toplumsal, siyasal ve ekonomik boyutları olan bir sistemdir. Modernleşme kuramı ise 20. yüzyılın ilk yarısında ortaya çıkan gelişmeler sonunda, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde sosyal bilimler çevresinde geliştirilen bir kuramdır. Modernleşme kuramının öne sürdüğü tezler modern dünya sisteminin kökleşmesini sağlamıştır. Modernleşme kuramıyla birlikte genelde Avrupa, özelde Amerikan evrenselliği dünya çapında geniş bir alana yayılmıştır. Modernleşme kuramıyla yeni ülkeler ve yeni bölgeler bu sistemin bir parçası haline gelmiştir.

The aim of this study is to analyse the modernization theory in the frame of Wallerstein’s modern world model. Wallerstem’s modern world system is a capitalist economic world system that began in the 16th century and extended to the 21st century. Modern world system is a system that consists of several dimensions, such as social, political, and economical. Social scientists in the United States came up with Modernization theory and developed it in the middle of twenty century based on the new developments. The tenets of modernization theory enhanced the modern world system. European universality, in particular, American universality has become very popular all around the world since that time. With this theory, both new countries and regions become the parts of this system.
