Finansal Piyasalar ve Ekonomik Büyüme Ekonometrik Bir Analiz

Abstract

Çalısmada finansal gelisme ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki iliski incelenmistir. Çalısmanın amacı, finansal gelisme ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki nedensellik iliskisini test etmek ve nedenselligin yönünü bulmaktır. Nedensellik testinde 1996 – 2005 yılları arası üç aylık dönemsel veriler kullanılmıstır. Tezin birinci bölümü, finansal sistemin tanımını, fonksiyonlarını, kurumlarını ve kullanılan finansal araçları anlatmaktadır. Tezin ikinci bölümünün ilk kısmında, finansal gelisme kavramı anlatılmaktadır. Yine ikinci bölümünde, finansal gelisme ve ekonomik büyüme iliskisine dair teorilere deginilmekte ve Türkiye’nin finansal yapısı anlatılmaktadır. Son bölümde finansal gelisme ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki nedensellik iliskisi test edilmistir. Test sonuçlarına göre; Türkiye’de finansal gelisme ve ekonomik büyüme arasında finansal gelismenin ekonomik büyümenin nedeni oldugu yönünde bir iliski bulunmaktadır.

In this master thesis, the relationship between financial development and economic growth is examined. The purpose of this study is to test the causal relationship between financial development and economic growth and to find the direction of causality. For the causality test, we used quarterly data fort the period 1996 – 2005. Chapters are organized as follows. First chapter discusses the functions, institions, financal tools, and defination of the financial system. Second chapter defines the concept of financial development. Second chapter also reviews the theories about the relations between the financial development and economic growth and explains the financial structure of Turkey. Finally, in the third chapter the relationship between financial development and economic growth is analyzed. According to our results, the causality runs from financial development to economic development in Turkey
