| dc.description | The aim of this research is to adapt the Science Learning Motivation Scale
developed by Tuan, Chin and Shieh to Turkish for mathematics lesson. For this
purpose psychometric properties of the scale have been examined. Participants of this
research are 462 high school students. The forward translation technique has been
used because cultural features of the Motivation towards Mathematics Learning Scale
are taken in to account. Since the original form of the scale was developed for the
science lesson, explanatory factor analysis was used first to reveal the structure for
the mathematics and for high school students. Model data consistency was examined
by confirmatory factor analysis. It was seen that the reliability of each of the factors
forming the scale was high and the Motivation towards Mathematics Learning Scale had a similar factor structure to the original scale. In conclusion, according to the
findings obtained from the validity and reliability studies of Motivation towards
Mathematics Learning Scale, It can be said that the scale is appropriate to the Turkish
Language and high school students' motivations for learning mathematics can be
measured as valid and reliable. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Bu araştırmanın amacı Tuan, Chin ve Shieh tarafından geliştirilen Fen
Öğrenmeye Yönelik Motivasyon Ölçeği’nin matematik dersi için Türkçeye
uyarlanmasıdır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ölçeğin psikometrik özellikleri incelenmiştir.
Araştırmanın katılımcılarını 462 lise öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Matematik
Öğrenmeye Yönelik Motivayon (MÖYM) Ölçeği’nin Türkçeye çevirisinde kültürel
özellikleri dikkate almasından dolayı ileri çeviri tekniği kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin özgün
formu fen bilgisi dersi için geliştirilmiş olduğundan, matematik dersi ve lise düzeyinde
öğrenim gören öğrenciler için yapısını ortaya çıkarmak için öncelikle açıklayıcı
faktör analizi kullanılmıştır. Model veri uyumu ise doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile
incelenmiştir. Ölçeği oluşturan faktörlerin her birinin güvenirliğinin yüksek olduğu
ve MÖYM Ölçeğinin orijinal ölçekle benzer faktör yapısına sahip olduğu
görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak MÖYM Ölçeğinin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmalarından
elde edilen bulgulara göre, Türkçeye uygun olduğu ve lise düzeyindeki öğrencilerin
matematik öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyonlarını geçerli ve güvenilir olarak
