Türkiye’de iletişim fakültelerinde lisansüstü eğitim düzeyinde doktora programları ve derslerinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Araştırmada, Türkiye’de iletişim bilimleri alanında lisansüstü düzeyinde eğitim veren devlet ve vakıf üniversitelerindeki ana bilim ve bilim dalında bulunan doktora programları ve programlarda verilen dersler incelenerek, müfredata ilişkin genel bir durum saptaması ile çeşitli çözüm önerileri sunulması amaçlanmıştır. Türkiye’de 7 coğrafi bölgede dağılım gösteren, 17 devlet ve 8 vakıf üniversitesi olmak üzere 25 üniversite bulunmaktadır. Devlet üniversiteleri iletişim fakültelerinin 23 doktora programında 1209 ders, vakıf üniversiteleri iletişim fakültelerinde ise 8 doktora programında 207 ders olmak üzere toplamda 1416 dersin incelendiği araştırmada bulgular; tarama, doküman ve içerik analizi yöntemi ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini lisansüstü eğitim düzeyinde doktora programı bulunan devlet ve vakıf üniversiteleri oluştururken, örneklemi ise doktora programları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda en dikkat çeken nokta, Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesinde iletişim fakültelerinin bölümlerinde doktora programı bulunmamasıdır. Türkiye’de iletişim alanıyla ilgili yapılan araştırmalar lisans düzeyindeki eğitim ile sınırlı kalırken, yapılan bu araştırma lisansüstü eğitim düzeyinde yapılan ilk araştırma olması bakımından özgün değere sahiptir. Bu noktada araştırmada elde edilen veriler, alanda çeşitli yorumların yapılabilmesi ve aynı ya da farklı alandaki yapılacak çalışmalara kaynaklık etmesi bakımından önem arz etmektedir.

In the research, it is aimed to present various solution proposals with a general situation evaluation regarding the curriculum by examining the doctoral programs in the main science and science branches and the courses given in the programs in state and foundation universities that provide postgraduate education in the field of communication sciences in Turkey. There are 25 universities in Turkey, 17 state and 8 foundation universities, which are distributed in 7 geographical regions. The findings of the study, in which a total of 1416 courses were examined, 1209 courses in 23 doctoral programs of communication faculties of state universities and 207 courses in 8 doctoral programs in foundation universities communication faculties; It was obtained by scanning, document analysis and content analysis methods. While the universe of the research consists of state and foundation universities with doctorate programs at the graduate level, the sample is doctoral programs. The most striking point as a result of the research is that there are no doctoral programs in the departments of communication faculties in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. While research in communication in Turkey is limited to undergraduate education study, this research is unique in that it is the first research conducted at postgraduate education level. At this point, the data obtained in the research is important in terms of making various interpretations in the field and being a source for studies in the same or different field.
