Covid-19 pandemisi ve çocuklar üzerine etkileri

Abstract

Çocukluk, insan yaşamının ilk evresi, insan gelişiminin de temelidir. Çocukluk dönemi yaşantısının yetişkinlik dönemi üzerine etkisi artık yadsınamaz bir gerçek halini almıştır. Bu, çocukluk döneminin ne kadar önemli olduğunu bizlere göstermektedir. Bilindiği üzere 2019 yılı sonu itibariyle Dünya Covid-19 pandemisiyle tanışmış, Ülkemizde de 2020 yılı ilk çeyreği içinde ilk vakalar görülmeye başlanmıştır. Bu süreçte daha önce belki de hiç kullanmadığımız bazı terimler günlük hayatımızın içine kadar girmiştir. Uzaktan eğitim, esnek çalışma, evden çalışma, karantina, izolasyon vb. bunlardan bazılarıdır. Özellikle sokağa çıkma yasakları insanların ev dışı ortamlardan çekilerek fiziki olarak evde hapsolmalarına neden olmuştur. Bu durumun insan yaşamına ve psikolojisine olumsuz etkileri bilinmekte ve halen araştırılmaya devam edilmektedir. Toplumun hemen hemen her kesimi bu süreçten bir şekilde etkilenmiş olsa da belki de en çok etkilenen gruplardan birisi de çocuklardır. Bu süreçte yüz yüze eğitime devam edememe, ev dışı ortamlarda bulunamama ve evde sıkışıp kalma, akranlarından uzak kalma, eğitime uzaktan eğitim yöntemleriyle devam etme, hatta belki de edememe gibi sorunlarla karşı karşıya kalmışlardır. Ek olarak pandemi döneminde ev içi şiddet ile ihmal ve istismarın artmış olabileceği, izole bir yaşam sürdürüldüğünden de erken uyarı ve önleme sistemlerinin bu süreçte etkin bir şekilde işlemeyebileceği sürekli dile getirilen konulardandır. Bu sebeple çalışmamızda Covid-19 pandemisinin çocuklar üzerindeki etkileri konusunun detaylı bir şekilde irdelenmesi ve bu konunun araştırıldığı, ortaya konulduğu çalışmaların derleme bir şekilde sunulması ve sosyal hizmet perspektifi ile tartışılması amaçlanmaktadır.

Childhood is the first stage of human life and the basis of human development. The effect of childhood life on adulthood has now become an undeniable reality. This shows us how important childhood period is. As it is known, as of the end of 2019, the world met with the Covid-19 pandemic, and the first cases began to be seen in our country in the first quarter of 2020. In this process, some terms that we have perhaps never used before have entered our daily lives. Distance education, flexible working, working from home, quarantine, isolation, etc. are some of them. In particular, curfews have caused people to be physically confined at home by withdrawing from outside environments. The negative effects of this situation on human life and psychology are known and still continue to be researched. Although almost every part of the society has been affected by this process in some way, perhaps one of the most affected groups is children. In this process, they faced problems such as not being able to continue face-to-face education, not being able to be outside the home and being stuck at home, staying away from their peers, and continuing their online education methods. In addition, it is constantly mentioned that domestic violence, neglect and abuse may have increased during the pandemic period, and that early warning and prevention systems may not work effectively in this process due to an isolated life. For this reason, in our study, it is aimed to examine the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on children in detail and to present the studies on this subject in the form of a compilation with a social work perspective.
