Ziya Gökalp’in tarihsel sosyoloji anlayışının Prens Sabahaddin sosyolojisindeki izleri: Tahsin Demiray ve Türk toplum tarihi

Abstract

Ziya Gökalp, Türkiye’de sosyolog ve ideolog kimlikleriyle bilinirlik sağlamış ve Türkiye’de Cumhuriyet’in kuruluşundan günümüze değin gerek siyasette gerekse de düşünce tarihi içindeki etkili yerini korumuştur. Gökalp, Türkiye’de sosyolojinin kuruluşunun yanı sıra Türkiye’nin kamu felsefesinin inşasında da etkili olmuş bir düşünürdür. Gökalp’ın ideolog kimliği ile siyasetteki belirleyici konumu, onun sosyolojik çalışmalarıyla mümkün olmuştur. Sosyolojik çalışmalarının zemini ya da onun sosyolojik tahayyülü ise Türk toplumunun dünya siyasetindeki yerinin belirlenmesidir. Türk toplum kimliği diyebileceğimiz bu yerin belirlenmesi adına Gökalp, Türk toplumunu kendi tarihi içinde ele alan sosyolojik çalışmalar yapmış ve dönem itibariyle geçerli görünen bir takım çözüm önerileri getirmiştir. Bu çalışmada Gökalp’ın kendisinden sonraki dönemlerde Türkiye’de sosyolojinin gelişimi içerisinde farklı ekollerdeki etkisi ele alınacaktır. Bu ele alıştaki temel belirleyici unsur, Türk toplum tarihinin sosyologlarımızın çalışmalarındaki yeridir. Bu minvalde Prens Sabahaddin’in devamcılarından Tahsin Demiray’ın Türk toplum yapısına dair görüşlerinde Gökalp’in etkisi tartışılacaktır. Bu tartışmada her iki sosyoloğun yaklaşımlarının benzerliğinin yanı sıra Osmanlı eleştirileri ile Türk medeniyetine dair araştırmalarının ortak bulguları yorumlanmıştır.

Ziya Gökalp has been known as a sociologist and ideologue in Turkey and has maintained his influential place in both politics and the history of thought since the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. Gökalp is a thinker who was influential not only in the establishment of sociology in Turkey but also in the construction of Turkey's public philosophy. Gökalp's identity as an ideologue and his decisive position in politics were made possible by his sociological studies. The ground of his sociological studies or his sociological imagination is the determination of the place of Turkish society in world politics. In order to determine this place, which we can call the identity of Turkish society, Gökalp conducted sociological studies that dealt with Turkish society within its own history and proposed a number of solutions that seemed valid at the time. In this study, Gökalp's influence on different schools in the development of sociology in Turkey in the following periods will be discussed. The main determining factor in this approach is the place of Turkish social history in the works of our sociologists. In this context, the influence of Gökalp on the views of Tahsin Demiray, one of the followers of Prince Sabahaddin, on the structure of Turkish society will be discussed. In this discussion, the similarities of both sociologists' approaches as well as the common findings of their criticism of the Ottoman Empire and their research on Turkish civilization are interpreted.
