dc.description.abstract | The interest in the geographical signs started to increase by the adoption of the law Industrial Property Law No. 6769 in January 2017 and the number of geographically marked products has grown more than 90%. Afyonkarahisar is one of the leading provinces in terms of the number of geographical marked products both of possession or application phase. In this context, it is aimed to evaluate the geographical sign registered and registered potential products of Afyonkarahisar in terms of tourism and rural development. Research designed as qualitative and secondary sources were used for data collection. Research shows date, Afyonkarahisar have seven geographical signs in terms of Afyonkarahisar Potato Bread, Afyon Sauce, Afyon Bacon, Afyon Cream, Çay District Cherry, Afyon Marble and Bayat Turkmen Rug; and have four products at the application stage in terms of Afyon Poppy Seed, Afyon Creamy Bread Dessert, Afyon Delight and Şuhut Keşkek. At the end of the research, suggestions for the role of these gastronomy-weighted geographical products in increasing the tourist demand were developed. | en_US |
