Turizm/ Turist Rehberliği Bölümü akademisyenlerinin profili: Türkiye Üniversiteleri örneği

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, turizm rehberliği ve turist rehberliği alanında yükseköğretim düzeyinde eğitim veren üniversitelerde çalışan öğretim elemanlarının profilini çeşitli parametreler açısından ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın evrenini, Türkiye’xxdeki üniversitelerin önlisans ve lisans düzeyinde turist/turizm rehberliği eğitimi veren yüksekokul ve fakültelerde aktif olarak çalışan akademik personeller oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama yöntemi olarak nitel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin çözümlenmesinde içerik analizi kullanılmış, veriler yüzde ve sıklık analizi ile çapraz tablolar halinde incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, Türkiye’xxde 32 fakülte ve yüksekokulda turizm rehberliği bölümlerinde 196 ve 28 meslek yüksekokulunda ise turist rehberliği programlarında 75 olmak üzere toplam 271 öğretim elemanının görev yaptığı bunların 54,6’xxsının erkek ve 45,4’xxünün kadın olduğu en çok 34,7 ile doktor öğretim üyesi unvanına sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Akademisyenlerin 48 ayrı üniversitede 119 farklı programda olmak üzere 57,2’xxsinin turizm alanında farklı bölümlerde, 25,5’xxinin ise turizm rehberliği bölümünde lisans eğitimini tamamladıkları ve sadece 20’xxsinin çalışma kartına sahip birer rehber olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to reveal the profile of the faculty members working in universities providing education at the higher education level in the field of tourism guidance and tourist guidance in terms of various parameters. The population of study, the universities in Turkey undergraduate level vocational schools offering education in tourist guide with graduate-level training in the tourism guidance faculties and schools that constitute academic staff are actively working. Qualitative research methods was used to collect data. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the research data, and the data were analyzed in cross tables by percentage and frequency analysis. As a result, 32 schools and colleges in the tourism guidance in section 196 and in Turkey, where he/she served a total of 271 vocational colleges and 28 academic staff, including 75 in tourist guidance program; 54.6% of them were male and 45.4% were female; with the highest rate of 34.7% was determined to have the title of assistant professor faculty. It was found that 57.2% of the academicians in 119 different programs in 48 different universities completed their undergraduate studies in different departments in tourism and 25.5% in tourism guidance department and only 20% of them were guides with working license.
