Kültürel mirasın sürdürülebilirliği: Turizm eğitimi veren kurum müfredatları üzerine bir inceleme

Abstract

Sürdürülebilirlik kavramı genel olarak ekoloji ile bağdaştırılmasına rağmen ekolojik ve çevresel faktörlerin ötesinde daha geniş bir anlam çerçevesine sahiptir. Özellikle turizmin çevre ve kültür ile sürekli etkileşim halinde bulunması, sürdürülebilirliğin bu kavramlar üzerindeki önemini artırmaktadır. Turizm sektörünün süreklilik arz etmesi, yeniliklerin ve çekicilik değeri olan ürünlerin korunabilmesi ile sağlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, kültürel miras değerlerin sürdürülebilirliği, özellikle küreselleşme karşısında farklılıkların yaşatılmasında etkin bir rol oynamaktadır. Kültürel mirasın sürdürülebilmesi ve turizm sektörüne yansıtılabilmesi için konuya ilişkin eğitimin önemi büyüktür. Söz konusu bu eğitim, informal şekilde olabileceği gibi özellikle eğitim kurumları bünyelerinde turizm müfredatlarına konulan derslerdeki eğitim-öğretimlerle formal bir şekilde de olabilmektedir. Bu kapsamda, özellikle turizm eğitimi veren üniversitelerin söz konusu duruma ilişkin müfredatlarında kültürel mirasın sürdürülebilirliği konusuna ne kadar yer verdiklerinin tespiti ve bu doğrultuda konuya ilişkin öneriler getirmek önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada, ilk olarak lisans ve lisansüstü turizm eğitimi veren devlet ve vakıf üniversitelerinin turizm ders müfredatları, “sürdürülebilirlik” kapsamında sunulan dersler üzerinden incelenmiştir. İkinci olarak kültürel mirasın sürdürülebilirliğine ilişkin derslere ne kadar yer verildiği, yer veriliyor ise bir başka ders içinde mi yoksa ayrı bir ders olarak mı sunulduğu incelenmiştir. İçerik analizi ile elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda konuya yönelik önerilerde bulunularak, turizm sektöründe önemli bir yer tutan kültürel mirasın sürdürülebilirliğine ilişkin farkındalığın artırılması amaçlanmıştır.

Although the concept of sustainability is generally associated with ecology, it has a wider context beyond ecologic and environmental factors. Especially the constant interaction of tourism with environment and culture, increases the significance of sustainability on these concepts. The continuity of the tourism sector is ensured by the protection of innovations and products with charm values. In thıs context, especially the determination of how much the universities that provide training for “tourism”, concerning the issue of the sustainability of cultural heritage in thier curriculum include that and accordingly bring forward proposals about the matter is important. The importance of concerning to the subject “education” is high for sustainable of cultural heritage and reflect it on tourism sector. The topic of “education”, as well as informal, may be formal with education-training imposed by tourism curriculum especially in structure of educational institutions. The education concerning to the subject needs to be provided in order to be able to sustain cultural heritage and reflect it on the tourism sector. In this study, firstly tourism curriculum of public and foundation universities which provide under and post-graduate trainin be examined on courses that present within “sustainability”. Secondly, it has been examined how much the lectures related to the sustainability of cultural heritage are included, and if so, whether they are being presented within another lecture or as separate lectures themselves. By making suggestion about the subject in accordance with finding acquired with content analysis, it is aimed to enhancement of awareness concerning sustainability of cultural heritage that take on important place on tourism sector.
