Öğrencilerin Çevre Ve Alan Hesaplamalarındaki Yanlışlıkları Ve Yanılgıları

Abstract

Öğrencilerin “Cebir” konusunu öğrenirken ne gibi yanlış anlamaların olduğunu tespit etmek ve bu yanlış anlamaların nasıl giderileceği amacıyla yapılan yüksek lisans çalışmasında 47 soruluk Teşhis Testi kullanılmıştır. Bu makalede söz konusu Teşhis Testinde bazı geometrik şekillerin çevreleri ve alanlarının bulunması ile ilgili 2 sorunun verileri değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen verilere göre öğrencilerin; çevre kavramının anlamını bildiği fakat geometrik şekillerin kenar sayısı artınca çevreyi bulmada, geometrik şekillerin alanlarını bulurken alan kavramının anlamında yanlışlıkları ve yanılgılarının olduğu görülmektedir.

The purpose of the study was to explore students misunderstandings and mistakes in finding perimeter and area of some geometric figures, and possible suggestions for overcoming these problems. This study was taken from the MSc thesis. For this study, a diagnostic test consisting of 47 questions was used. Two questions of the test was assessed in this article. The results of the study revealed that students knew the meaning of perimeter concept however, they had some misunderstandings and mistakes in finding perimeter when there was an increase in the sides of geometric figures and in defining of area concept while finding area of geometric figures.
