| dc.description | In this study, the influence of museum from informal learning environments was investigated on students’ academic achievement about acquisition of "explaining the formation of fossils" in the 5th grade science lesson. The population of study is private middle schools in province of Bornova/İzmir. Two schools have been selected by purposive sampling method as sample group. Experiment and control groups of the study were randomly selected from two schools. The experiment group is 23, control group is 24 and total is 47 students. The experiment group was taken to Ege University Natural History Museum to teach subject of fossil and the other control group was processed in the school. In this study, a science-based achievement test developing by the researcher was used. The achievement test consists of 10 multiple-choice items. In addition, at the end of the achievement test of the experiment group, 3 questions about informal learning environment was added. The data was analyzed by independent t-test. The results show that there is statistically differences between experiment and control groups and experiment groups mean score is bigger than control groups. Moreover, students declared positive statements about learning in museum as informal learning environment. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmada, 5.sınıf fen bilimleri dersinde “Fosillerin oluşumunu açıklar” kazanımını informal öğrenme ortamlarından olan Tabiat Tarihi müzesinde işlenmesinin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmada kontrol gruplu son test deney deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışma evreni İzmir ili Bornova ilçesinde bulunan özel okullar olup örneklem grubu amaçsal örneklem seçim yoluyla 2 okul belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın deney ve kontrol grupları rasgele seçilerek bir okulun bir şubesi deney (23), diğer okulun bir şubesi ise kontrol (24) olmak üzere toplam 47 kişidir. Çalışmada “Fosiller” konusu deney grubu Ege Üniversitesi Tabiat Tarihi Müzesine götürülmüş diğer kontrol grubu ise okulda her zamanki seyrinde işlenmiştir. Bu araştırmada araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen, çoktan seçmeli 10 maddeden oluşan, Fen Bilgisi başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca deney grubunun başarı testinin sonuna informal öğrenme ortamı hakkında 3 açık uçlu soru eklenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, 5.sınıf fen bilimleri dersinde “Fosiller” konusunda deney grubu öğrencilerinin not ortalamaları kontrol grubunun ortalamaları bağımsız örneklem t-testi ile analiz edilmiş ve aralarında deney grubu yönünde istatiksel olarak anlamlı fark görülmüştür. Ayrıca öğrenciler informal öğrenme ortamı olarak müzede öğrenme hakkında pozitif ifadelerde bulunmuşlardır. | en_US |
