“Çağdaş” müzik ne kadar “Yeni”?

Abstract

Bu makale, 2014’te kaleme aldığım “Besteci Açısından Yeni Müzik ve Bestecinin Yeni Sorunları” başlıklı yazının devamı niteliğindedir. İmlediği alan 1945 sonrası Avrupa ve Amerika Kıtaları sanat müziği olan “yeni müzik”, günümüzde ne yazık ki çok kısıtlı bir perspektifte değerlendirilmektedir. Makale, bu konuyu müzikteki “yeni” ve “çağdaş” estetik algılarını ve bu algıların kökenlerini ve gelişimlerini inceleyerek daha kapsayıcı bir yaklaşım sergilemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Kavramların incelenmesinin ardından, günümüz “yeni/ çağdaş” müziğine gelene kadarki tarihsel süreç objektif ve eleştirel bir şekilde ele alınarak, bir besteci gözüyle çağdaş müzik kavramına “yeniden” bakıp, geleceğe dair öngörülerde bulunulacaktır.

This article is a continuation of the article titled "New Music from the Composer's Perspective and New Problems of the Composer" that I wrote in 2014. Unfortunately today, "new music", whose field it refers to is the art music of Europe and the Americas after 1945, is evaluated in a very limited perspective. The article aims to present a more inclusive approach to this subject by examining the "new" and "contemporary" aesthetic perceptions in music, and the origins and developments of these perceptions. Following the analysis of the concepts, the historical process until today's "new/contemporary" music will be handled objectively and critically, by looking at the concept of contemporary music from perspective of a composer and making predictions “anew” about the future.
