Covid-19 salgınının sağlık sektöründeki şirketlerin performansına etkileri

Abstract

COVİD-19 salgını kısa sürede tüm dünyayı etkisi altına alarak hızlıca insanlara bulaşmış ve bu salgın tüm insanlığı etkilemiştir. Pandemi süresince pek çok işletme alınan tedbirler kapsamında işletmelerini kapatırken binlerce insanda işinden çıkartılmıştır. Bu durum ekonomik açıdan tehdit oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı Covid-19 salgınının sağlık sektöründeki şirketlerin performansına etkilerinin analiz edilmesidir. Analiz aşamasında BİST’de yer alan sağlık sektörü şirketlerinin mali tabloları Kamuyu Aydınlatma Platformundan (KAP) ve www.fintable.com sitesinden alınıp karşılaştırılarak performans analizi yapılmıştır. Bu değerlendirme verileri 2016-2022 yıllarını kapsayacak olup pandemi öncesinin ve pandemi döneminin karşılaştırması ilgili 7 yıl için yapılmıştır. Yapılan literatür araştırmasında Covid-19’un şirketlerin finansal performanslarına etkileri ile ilgili iki çalışmaya rastlanılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda yapılan çalışma ile Covid-19 salgınının BİST‘de sağlık sektöründe yer alan Deva Holding, Eczacıbaşı, Lokman Hekim, MLP Sağlık Hizmetleri, Selçuk Ecza Deposu olmak üzere beş şirkette uygulanmıştır. Bu tez çalışmasının özelliği Covid-19 salgınının etkilerinin hizmet işletmelerin içinde özel sağlık hizmeti veren ve malzemeleri üreten işletmeler üzerinde incelenmesidir. İncelemeye konu olan sektör BİST’de yer alan sağlık şirketleri olup 2016-2022 yıllarının karşılaştırılması yapılacaktır. Mali bilgilerin şeffaf ve kolaylıkla elde edilmesi adına BİST şirketlerinde araştırma yapılması tercih edilmiştir.

The COVID-19 epidemic affected the whole world in a short time and quickly infected people, and this epidemic affected all humanity. While many businesses closed, within the scope of the measures taken during the pandemic, thousands of people were laid off from their jobs. This situation has created an economic threat. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on the performance of companies in the healthcare sector. During the analysis phase, the financial statements of the healthcare sector companies listed on BIST were taken from the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) and www.fintable.com and a comparison performance analysis was made. This evaluation data will cover the years of 2016-2022, and the comparison of the pre-pandemic and pandemic period was made for the relevant 7 years. In the literature research, two studies were found on the effects of Covid-19 on the financial performance of companies. With the study carried out in this direction. The Covid-19 epidemic was implemented in five companies in the health sector in BIST, namely Deva Holding, Eczacıbaşı, Lokman Hekim, MLP Sağlık Hizmetleri, Selçuk Ecza Deposu. The feature of this thesis study is to examine the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on businesses that provide private healthcare services and produce materials within service businesses. The sector subject to review and compare is the healthcare companies listed in BIST from the years 2016-2022. In order to obtain financial information transparently and easily, it was preferred to conduct research on BIST companies.
