Sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçları bağlamında sosyal bilgiler

Abstract

Bu araştırmada sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçları bağlamında Sosyal Bilgiler dersi öğretim programı ve ders kitapları incelenmiş, öğrencilerden sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçları ile ilgili görüşleri alınmış, ortaokul öğrencileri için geri dönüşüm ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Bu bağlamda sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçlarının Sosyal Bilgiler dersindeki yeri ve önemine dikkat çekilmiştir. Araştırmada karma yöntemin gömülü karma deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel verileri Sosyal Bilgiler dersi öğretim programı ve Sosyal Bilgiler beş, altı, yedinci sınıf ders kitapları betimsel analiz ile incelenerek elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçları ile ilgili görüşlerinin incelenebilmesi amacı ile öğrencilere sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçları anlatılmış ve her bir amaç için kompozisyon yazmaları istenmiştir. Öğrencilerin yazdıkları kompozisyonlar da betimsel analiz ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu Afyonkarahisar il merkezinde bulunan üç ortaokulda yedinci sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan 290 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Sürdürülebilir kalkınma bağlamında Sosyal Bilgiler dersi öğretim programı ve ders kitapları incelendiğinde hem öğretim programının hem de ders kitaplarının sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçlarını içerdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğrencilerin yazdıkları kompozisyonlar incelendiğinde de sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya önem verdikleri ve yeterli bilgiye sahip oldukları ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Uygulanan ortaokul öğrencileri için geri dönüşüm ölçeği de kadın katılımcıların, şehir merkezinde yaşayanların, anne ve baba öğrenim durumu lise ve daha üstü olan katılımcıların sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın geri dönüşüm boyutuna daha fazla ilgi duyduklarını göstermiştir. Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçlarına daha fazla yer verebilmek adına daha açık şekilde sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçlarına yer verilebilmesi, sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçları bağlamında öğretim programı ve ders kitapları sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçlarının çevresel, sosyal ve ekonomik boyutları bakımından ayrı ayrı incelenebileceği önerilmiştir.

In this study, the social studies curriculum and textbooks were examined in the context of sustainable development goals, students' opinions about sustainable development goals were taken and a recycling scale was applied to secondary school students. In this context, attention was drawn to the importance of sustainable development goals in social studies course. The embedded mixed design of the mixed method was used in the study. The qualitative data of the study obtained by examining the social studies curriculum and social studies five, six and seventh rade textbooks by descriptive analysis. In addition, in order to examine the views of the students on the sustainable development goals, the sustainable development goals were explained to the students and they were asked to write an essay for each purpose. The essays written by the students were also examined by descriptive analysis. The study group of the research consists of 290 students studying in the seventh grade in three secondary schools in the city center of Afyonkarahisar. When the curriculum and texbooks of social studies were examined in the context of sustainable development, it was concluded that both the curric ulum and the textbooks included sustainable development goals. When the compositions written by the students were examined, it was revealed that they gave importance to sustainable development and had sufficient knowledge. The recycling scale applied to secondary school students also showed that female participants, those living in the city center, and participants whose parents had a high school education level or higher were more interested in the recycling dimension of sustainable development. In order to include sustainable development goals more in social studies courses, it has been suggested that sustainable development goals can be included more clearly, and that the curriculum and textbooks can be examined separately in terms of the environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainable development goals in the context of sustainable development goals.
