Ekonomik Özgürlükler ve Ekonomik Büyüme

Abstract

Ekonomik özgürlük ve ekonomik büyüme arasında doğrudan bir ilişkinin olup olmadığı son yıllarda önemli tartışmalara konu olmuştur. Bu konuda yapılan ciddi istatistiki çalışmaların sonuçları göstermiştir ki ekonomik özgürlük ekonomik büyümeyi gerçekleştirmek için bir ön şarttır. Ekonomik özgürlükler alanında devlete düşen rol ise teşebbüs özgürlüğü, sözleşme özgürlüğü ve tercih özgürlüğü gibi ekonomik özgürlükleri güvence altına alacak kanuni düzenlemeler yapmak, diğer bir deyişle “oyunun kurallarını koymaktır. Bunun dışında devletin iktisadi hayata yaptığı her türlü müdahale ekonomik özgürlüğü dolayısıyla ekonomik büyümeyi sınırlandıracaktır.In recent years, there has been an intensive debate on the natuıe of the relationship betvveen the extent of the economic freedom and economic growth. The statistical surveys on this subject, indicates that the existence of economic freedom is a prerequisite for the achievement of economic growth. The role of the government in this field is to make necessary arrangements to ensure freedom for investment, freedom for contract, and freedom for preferences. In other words, the sole task of the government is to set the “rules of the game”. Any other kind of intervention to the economy restricts the extent of economic freedom and therefore limits economic growth.
