İlköğretim 5. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Aktif Kelime Serveti Üzerine Bir Araştırma (Manisa / Turgutlu İlçesi Örneği)

Abstract

Bu çalışma, çalışma evrenindeki ilköğretim 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin yazılı anlatımlarımdaki aktif kelime servetinin belirlenmesi için yapılmıştır. Öğrencilerin kelime servetlerini tespit edebilmek için Turgutlu ilçe merkezinde bulunan ilköğretim okullarından random (rastgele) yöntemiyle seçilen 90 adet 5. sınıf öğrenciye üç farklı türde (anı, otobiyografi, serbest konu) toplam 270 adet kompozisyon yazdırılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerde geçen kelimeler, öğrencilerin sosyo-ekonomik seviyelerine, cinsiyete ve üç farklı anlatım türüne göre incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme sonucunda toplam 31305 kelime tespit edilmiş olup bu kelimelerden 2743’ünün çeşit kelime, 28562’sinin ise bu kelimelerin tekrarı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sosyo-ekonomik seviyeleri orta olan öğrenciler hem toplamda hem de çeşit sayısında daha başarılı olmuşlardır. Cinsiyet bakımından baktığımızda toplamda kız öğrencilerin, çeşit sayısında ise erkek öğrencilerin üstünlüğü vardır. Türlerde ise toplamda otobiyografi türünde, çeşit sayısında ise serbest konuda daha fazla kelime kullanılmıştır. Çalışmamızın sonucunda, sosyo-ekonomik seviyeye, cinsiyete ve türlere göre kelime listeleri oluşturulmuş, bu listelerde geçen kelimelerle daha önce bu alanda yapılmış olan Mustafa Çıplak’ın “Uşak Merkez İlköğretim 5., 8. ve 11. Sınıfların Yazılı Kelime Hazinesinin Belirlenmesi” adlı tezi, Hayriye Ünsal’ın “İlköğretim 5. ve 8. Sınıflar İle Ortaöğretim 11. Sınıfların Sözlü Anlatımlarındaki Aktif Kelime Hazineleri / Afyon Merkez Örneği” adlı tezi, Kadir Duru’nun “İlköğretim 5. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Yazılı Anlatımlarındaki Aktif Kelime Servetinin Belirlenmesi / Uşak Sivaslı Örneği” adlı tezi, Ali Karahan’ın “Uşak Ulubey İlçesi Köy İlköğretim Okulları 5. Sınıfların Yazılı Kelime Servetinin Belirlenmesi” adlı tezi ile Mehmet Öztekin’in “İlköğretim 5. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Yazılı Anlatımlarındaki Aktif Kelime Servetinin Belirlenmesi / Düzce Akçakoca İlçesi Örneği” adlı tezinin listelerindeki kelimeler karşılaştırılarak ortak kelimelerden oluşan listeler hazırlanmıştır.

This work has been done to determine the active vocabulary of the 5th grade students of an elementary school in their written narration. In order to determine the active vocabulary of the students, 90 students from the 5th grades of elemetary schools in Turgutlu city center have been choosen at random and they have been made to write 270 compositons in 3 different types (memory writing, autobiography writing and free – subject writing). The words used in these samples have been examined according to social-economic levels of the students, their genders and types of narrating. After examining these words, totally 31305 words have been found out, and 2743 of these words are various kindS and the rest 28562 are the repetition of these 2743 words. The students whose social-economic levels are medium have been succesful at both using more words and using various kinds of words. Girls are superior at using more words,and boys are at various kinds. When considering the types, more words have been used at autobiography writing and various kinds of words have been used at free-subject writing. At the end of our work, word lists have been formed according to socialeconomic levels, genders and kinds, and by comparing these words with the ones used in the works done previously in this field such as Mehmet Öztekin’s thesis named “Determining the active vocabulary of the 5th grade students of an elementary school in their written narration/Düzce –Akçakoca Sample” and Ali Karahan’s thesis named “Determining the Active vocabulary of Village Elementary Schools 5th grade students of Uşak-Ulubey” and Kadir Duru’s thesis named “Determining the active Vocabulary of the 5th Grade students of an elementary school in written narration/Uşak- Sivaslı sample” and Hayriye Ünsal’s thesis named “Active Vocabulary of 5th, 8th and 11th grade students of an elementary school in their oral narration/Afyon City Center Sample” and Mustafa Çıplak’s thesis named “Determining the active vocabulary of the 5th, 8th and 11th grade students of Uşak City Center elementary school in their written narration” and new word lists with the combination of all common ones have been prepared.
