Müzik Politikaları ve Modernleşme Bağlamında Cumhuriyet Döneminde Türk Sanat Müziği Alanındaki Başlıca Gelişmeler

Abstract

Müzik Politikaları ve Modernleşme Bağlamında Cumhuriyet Döneminde Türk Sanat Müziği Alanındaki Başlıca Gelişmeler” başlıklı bu tezin amacı, Cumhuriyet Döneminde müzik üzerinden yürütülen kültür devrimlerinin, Osmanlı/Türk Müziğine etkilerini ve güdülen bu siyasetin Osmanlı/Türk müziğini ne yönde değiştirdiğinin incelenmesidir. Bu değişimlerin analizi Osmanlı dönemini de kapsayarak Cumhuriyet dönemine kadar uzanmıştır. Modernleşme akımıyla yaşanan birçok farklılaşma olgusu, toplumun yarattığı bir kültür olan müziği de içine almış ve Cumhuriyet Döneminde bir politika haline getirilmiştir. Osmanlı/Türk müziğinin kimlik sorgulamasıyla başlayan bu süreç, bu türün yasaklanmasıyla büyüyerek devam etmiştir. Bu yüksek lisans çalışmasında, bu yasaklamaların nedenleri olarak, dünyada gelişen olayların ve bu olayların getirdiği temel prensiplerin etkileri el verdiğince anlatılmıştır. Cumhuriyet Döneminde “milli müzik” adına yapılan çalışmalarla, müziğe dolayısıyla da topluma yeni bir yön çizilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Türk Modernleşmesi sürecinde müzik, olması gerektiği gibi sosyo-kültürel bir kavram olarak ele alınmış ve özellikle Cumhuriyet’in modernleşme planları iv

içerisinde önemli bir görev üstlenmiştir. Cumhuriyet’in ikinci yarısı olarak sayabileceğimiz 40’lı yıllardan 60’lara kadar olan süreçteki sosyal farklılaşmaların da müziği ne yönde etkilediği yapılan tez çalışmasında el verdiğince yer verilmiştir. Bu tez üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Kavramlar bölümünde modernleşme kavramının analizi yapılmıştır, bu bölüm Türk modernleşmesinin modernleşme akımlarıyla ne yönde etkilendiği ve bu bağlamda müzikte yapılan modernizasyon çalışmalarının anlaşılmasına aracılık etmektedir. İkinci bölüm, Cumhuriyet döneminde müzik alanında yapılan çalışmalara yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise yapılan bu çalışmaların Osmanlı/Türk müziğini ne yönde etkilediği incelenmiştir.

The objective of this thesis titled of “Music Policies and Main Devolopment in the Traditional Turkish Art Music within the Context Modernization” is to analyze the effects of the cultural revolutions carried out through music during the Republican era on Otoman/Turkish Classical Music and to investigate in what ways the policies followed changed Otoman/Turkish Classical Music. The analysis of these changes extended through the Republican era., encompassing the Otoman period. Many of the differentiation which emerged with the modernization movement encompassed music which is a kind of culture the society creates and it transformed into a policy in the Republican era. This process, begining with the questioning the identity of Ottoman/Turkish Classical Music, contunied with the prohibition ok the Turkish Classical Music. In this post graduate thesis, the effects of the events across the world and basic principles brought about by these events on these prohibitions have been explained as much as possible. During this perriod, with the works performed in the name of “national music” a new direction was aimed to be given to the music and, in turn, to the society. In the process of Turkish Modernization, music was seen a social-cultural concept as it vi

needs to be and it assumed an important role within the modernization plans of the Republic. This thesis also includes in what ways music was influenced by the social differentiation during the decade from 1940s until 1960s, which can be considered the second half of the Republic. This thesis is comprised of three sectios. In the sections of conscepts, the concept of modernization has been analyzed. This section explains how the turkish modernization process and gives us an understanding of the modernization process in music with in this context. The second section deals with the work in the field of music in the Republican era. The third section dwells on how these Works influenced Otoman/Turkish Music.
