Eylâ Erbil’de Samuel Beckett Etkisi

Abstract

XX. asır Avrupa edebiyatında birçok gelişme meydana gelmiştir. Bu gelişmelerin temelinde eskiyi yıkma, farklı ve orijinal olanı bulma ve adeta anti – edebî bir direnç bulunmaktadır. Avrupa edebiyatında yaşanan bu gelişmeler hızlı bir şekilde Türk edebiyatına yansımıştır. Avrupa edebiyatındaki önemli isimleri okuyan yazarlarımız, onların etkisi altında kalmıştır. Bu sebepten edebiyatımızda ilk defa 1950 kuşağı, kendilerinden öncekine benzemeyen, değişik bir edebî anlayış geliştirdiler. Bu kuşağın önemli yazarlarından olan Leylâ Erbil, ele aldığı konulara yaklaşımı, hikâyelerindeki biçimsel özellikler, dil ve üslûbuyla farklılığını yansıtmıştır. Onun edebî anlayışının kaynaklarından biri, XX. asır Avrupa edebiyatının en önemli yazarlarından olan Samuel Beckett’dır. Leylâ Erbil’in hikâyeleri özellikle biçim, dil ve üslûp özellikleri ile Samuel Beckett etkisi altındadır. Samuel Beckett, özellikle dil konusuna farklı bir yorum ve anlayış getirmiştir. Onun eserlerinde dil, iletişimi sağlayan bir unsur değildir. Birçok seslerle örülü olan dil, okuyucuya bir anlam ifade etmekten uzaktır. Bu yolla anlamsızlığa, hiçliğe yani “sessizliğe” doğru bir gidiş sağlanmıştır. Leylâ Erbil, Beckett’daki bu seslilik ve sessizlik estetiğini hikâyelerinde uygulamıştır. Bu durum onun ilk eserlerinden son eserlerine doğru azalarak devam etmiştir. Döneminde garipsenen ve eleştirilen bu estetik, zamanla Leylâ Erbil’i edebiyatımızda farklı bir yere taşımıştır.
