Türkiye’nin Farklı İllerindeki Kanser Hastalarında Tamamlayıcı ve Alternatif Tedavi Kullanımı

Abstract

Kanser; Ülkemizde ve dünyada en fazla ölüme sebebiyet veren nedenlerin başında gelmektedir. Bu hastalığın tedavisine yönelik standart radyoterapi, kemoterapi, operasyon ve immunoterapi yöntemlerine ek olarak son yıllarda kullanımı ve önemi hızla artan destekleyici ve alternatif (TAT) tedavisi hakkında yeni bilgiler öğrenilmektedir. TAT yöntemleri ve bunların kulanım düzeylerini anlamaya yönelik bir çalışma ülkemiz bazında tüm bölgeleri kapsayacak şekilde yapılmamıştır. Bu çalışma, Türkiye nin farklı illerindeki kanser hastaları arasında TAT kullanımı, düzeyleri ve kullanılan yöntem çeşitlerini belirlemeye yönelik olarak yapılmış olup, bu amaçla, Türkiye nin her bölgesinden 2 şer şehrin devlet hastanesi ya da tıp fakültelerinin onkoloji bölümüne başvuran 30 ar hastadan olmak üzere toplam Türkiye genelinde 420 hastadan anketler toplanmıştır. Alınan anketlerde hastalara sorulan TAT kullanımı, maliyeti, getirisi, yöntem çeşitleri, bilgi düzeyi ve kişisel bilgilere yönelik toplam 6 gruplu ve farklı alt grupları olan soruların SPSS paket programı ile yapılan istatistik analiziyle yorumlanmıştır. Önemlilik dereceleri kikare testi, veri gurup sayısının beşin altına düştüğü durumlarda ise Fisher exact testleri uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlara göre tüm Türkiye genelinde TAT kullanımının % 69 düzeyinde oldukça fazla bir oranda olduğu saptanmış, buna sebep olarak vücut direncini artırarak kansere karşı daha başarılı bir savaşın sürdürülebilme isteği ifade edilmiştir. Ayrıca en fazla başvurulan TAT yöntemi olarak bitkisel kaynaklı tedaviler (en fazla olarak % 56,6 oranıyla ısırgan otu gelmekte) ve ardından vitamin alımı ve dinsel tedavilerin geldiği görülmüştür. Yapılan çalışmada TAT kullanımının eğitim düzeyi ve ekonomik olarak gelir düzeyi ile de ilişkili olduğu, orta gelirli ama eğitim düzeyi yüksek olan hastaların bu tür farklı yöntemleri denemeye daha açık olduğu görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlara göre bilinen standart yöntemlere ek olarak kullanılan TAT (destekleyici ve alternatif tedavi) kanser gibi ölümcül hastalıkların tedavisinde başvurulan kaynaklar arasında sayılmaktadır. TAT yöntemlerinin kullanımındaki artışa bağlı olarak, pek çok ülke bu yöntemleri destekleyici sınıfından çıkararak asıl tedavi yöntemleri arasına sokmuştur. Ülkemiz açısından da bu sonuçlar TAT yöntemlerinin gittikçe öneminin ve kulanım oranının arttığını göstermektedir.

Cancer is one of the main cause of the death in our country and in the world. In the treatment of this illnes, as a standart methods, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, operations and immunotherapy, in additionaly, the CAM as being alternative and supporting treatment, is getting more attention. Its importance and usage possibility is in increase and new informations can be learned about CAM. There is no study about the understanding of the CAM methods and their using levels in our country, including our 7 regions. This study, based on the determination of the CAM methods using possibilities, using levels and used CAM methods in the cancer patients in different cities of Turkey and to search this, total 420 guestionnaire were collected from 2 cities goverment hospital or university hospitals onkology departments from each regions of all 7 regions coming from 30 patients of each. In the guestions, the CAM using possibilities, its cost, methods, the information level and personel questions included in total 6 groups and several subgroups. The collected datas were analyzed with SPSS statistical packet programme. The importance degree were analyzed with Fisher exact test and kisquare test. In our findings, 69% of all patients were using the CAM methods, which is very high in Turkey. To reason this, we can say that these methods are giving extra support to the body in figh against to the cancer. Also, the highest used CAM methods was the vegetable sources treatments and with %56,6 the netle was the highest. After this, the vitamin input and next the spiritual therapies were came. Ýn this study, the relations between the CAM using and the educational level and the economical income level also were determined. It was seen that the patients, with having the higher education but the medium income level are more open to trying these new different methods.According to these findings, beside of the known standart methods, the CAM, as a alternative and supporting methods, in the treatment of different sickness especially fatal cancer, is within the main treatments sources and relation to the increase in usage of these methods, the several different countries are take out the CAM methods from alternative treatment class to the main treatment methods. These results also supports the reality of the CAM methods are getting more importance and their usage is in increase especially in the treatment of the cancer in Turkey.
