Gazete Haberlerinin Biyoloji Eğitiminde Kullanımı

Abstract

Bu çalışma, öğretimde alternatif bir araç olarak kullanılabilen gazetelerin biyoloji öğretimine etkisini incelemiştir. Araştırmada, öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel araştırma modeli kullanılmış, araştırma gruplarından birisinde gazete kullanılarak öğretim, diğerinde geleneksel öğretim yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya Erzurum ili Ilıca Yavuz Sultan Selim Anadolu Öğretmen Lisesi Anadolu Lisesi 11. sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşan 2 sınıf katılmıştır. Gazete kullanımının başarıya etkisini ölçmek için sera etkisi ile ilgili 36 soruluk bir başarı testi ön ve son test olarak kullanılmıştır. Biyoloji öğretiminde gazetelerin kullanılmasının öğretim başarısını artırmada geleneksel metoda göre daha etkili olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of newspapers’ using as an alternative educational tool in biology teaching. Pre-posttest experimental design with control group was utilized. The experimental group was taught by using newspaper and the control group was taught by traditional method. Two classes of 11. grades from Ilıca Yavuz Sultan Selim Anadolu secondary school in Erzurum joined to this study. The effect of newspapers’ using on achievement of students was measured by using a success test; include 36 questions about greenhouse effect, by using pre-post test. As a result, newspapers were found to be more efficient in increasing the students’ success in biology teaching than that of traditional methods.
