| dc.description | The aim of this study is to develop “The Scale for Basic Process Skills of Pre-School Students” to measure basic process skills of pre-school students. The scale was designed to cover the skills of observation, classification, inference, measurement and prediction. Each skill was analyzed through four items and therefore, the scale consisted of twenty items. Based on the feedback provided by the experts, the scale was finalized. The scale was administered to pre-school students who were three-, four- and five-years old (N=228) from five different schools in a city of Western Turkey. The participants were selected through cluster sampling. The item analyses were carried out through computer software. For each item, the level of difficulty and the index of discrimination were identified. Its reliability coefficient was found to be (KR–20) 0.74 and its item difficulty was found to be 0.69. The discriminatory analysis of the upper and lower 27% groups’ scores showed that all items had a significant discriminatory power (p < .01). Based on these findings, it is thought that the scale developed is an appropriate tool to measure basic process skills of pre-school students. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmanın amacı, “Okulöncesi Öğrencilerine Yönelik Temel Beceri Ölçeği” geliştirmektir. Ölçek geliştirme sürecinde gözlem, sınıflama, çıkarım yapma, ölçme ve tahmin yapma becerilerinin her birine yönelik dörder sorudan oluşan 20 soru hazırlanmış ve uzman görüşüne sunulmuştur. Uzman görüşünden sonra 20 maddelik ölçek Afyonkarahisar il merkezinde tipik durum örnekleme yoluyla belirlenen beş farklı anaokulunda öğrenim gören 3, 4 ve 5 yaş grubu (N=228) öğrencilerine uygulanmıştır. İstatistiksel analiz için uygun paket programlar kullanılarak madde analizi yapılmış ve her sorunun madde güçlüğü ile ayırt edicilik indeksleri hesaplanmıştır. 20 maddeden oluşan bilimsel süreç becerileri ölçeğinin güvenirlik katsayısı (KR–20) 0.74, ölçeğin ortalama güçlüğü ise 0.69 olarak belirlenmiştir. Alt ve üst %27’lik grupların puanları arasındaki ayırt edicilikler incelendiğinde, ölçeğin bütün sorularının istatistiksel olarak anlamlı biçimde (p < .01) ayırt edici olduğu belirlenmiştir. Geliştirilen ölçeğin, okulöncesi öğrencilerinin temel becerilerini ölçmede uygun olduğu düşünülmektedir. | en_US |
