Covid-19 sürecinde hastane çalışanlarının yaşadığı duygusal tükenme algıladıkları aşırı iş yükü ile açıklanabilir mi?

Abstract

Günümüzde bütün Dünyayı etkisi altına alan Covid-19 salgını insan sağlığı üzerinde ciddi etkiler bırakmasının yanı sıra olumsuz psikolojik etkilere de neden olmaktadır. Salgın sürecinde hastane çalışanlarının iş yükünün artmasına bağlı olarak duygusal olarak tükendikleri ve bu durumun da başta kendileri olmak üzere ailelerini, çalışma arkadaşlarını sosyal çevresini ve çalıştığı kurumu derinden etkilediği gözlenmektedir. Dolayısıyla hastane çalışanlarının duygusal tükenme yaşamalarına etki eden faktörlerin belirlenmesi büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu kapsamda araştırmanın temel amacı, hastane çalışanlarının aşırı iş yükü algılarının yaşamış oldukları duygusal tükenmeye etkisinin olup olmadığının belirlenmesidir. Ayrıca duygusal tükenmenin bazı demografik değişkenler açısından incelenmesi araştırmanın alt amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bunun için iki özel hastanenin 237 çalışanından anket tekniği kullanılarak veriler toplanmış ve veriler SPSS ve AMOS paket programları ile analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz sonucunda hastane çalışanlarının aşırı iş yükü algılarının duygusal tükenmelerini pozitif yönde etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca hastane çalışanlarının duygusal tükenmelerinin görev türüne göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği ve yardımcı sağlık personelin idari personele göre daha fazla duygusal tükenme yaşadığı tespit edilmiştir.Today, the Covid-19 epidemic, which affects the whole world, causes serious effects on human health as well as negative psychological effects. During the epidemic process, it is observed that hospital employees are emotionally exhausted due to the increase in workload and this situation deeply affects themselves, their families, colleagues, social environment and the institution which they work. Therefore, it is of great importance to determine the factors that affect the emotional exhaustion of hospital staff. In this context, the main purpose of the study is to determine whether the perceptions of excessive workload of hospital staff have an effect on their emotional exhaustion. In addition, the sub-aim of the study is to examine emotional exhaustion in terms of some demographic variables. For this, data were collected from 237 employees of two private hospitals by using a questionnaire technique and the data was analyzed with SPSS and AMOS package programs. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the perception of excessive workload of hospital staff positively affected their emotional exhaustion. In addition, it was found that the emotional exhaustion of hospital staff showed a significant difference according to the type of duty, and the assistant health personnel experienced more emotional exhaustion than the administrative staff.
